They are helped by an astronaut, who turns out to be an older version of Walter. The game sees Walter's action as cheating, and so he is punished by being sucked into outer space, but fortunately the astronaut rescues him. With Danny, Walter, and the astronaut is the sister, Lisa, who is not a player but is still able to be harmed by the game, such as when she was placed in a cryogenic freezer for five turns of the game. One Zorgon is able to survive the robot's attack and then sneaks up behind Danny and Walter, and just as they are about to be killed, it is crushed and killed with Danny's piano by none other than Lisa.
The astronaut Walter is released when Walter draws a wishing card and wishes that the astronaut had his brother returned to him, and so the other Danny appears. Then the future Walter says sorry to his brother and they merge with their other selves. Danny completes the end of the game and the house is pulled into a roaring black hole, and he figures that this is Zathura. The Zorgon fleet is pulled in, and so are Walter and Lisa.
