Kristen Stewart Twilight

Kristen Jaymes Stewart was born on April 9, 1990 in Los Angeles, California.  Her father is a television producer and stage manager named John Stewart, and her mother is Jules Mann-Stewart, a script supervisor who is originally from Australia.  Kristen has an older brother named Cameron Stewart.  Kristen attended school until she was in the seventh grade, at which point she continued her education through correspondence.  She has completed high school since that time. 

Kristen first began acting when she was eight years old, after an agent viewed her acting in her elementary school's Christmas play.  Her first acting role was a nonspeaking part in the movie, The Thirteenth Year.  She also had another part in a movie called The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas, in which she played the "ring toss girl."  Afterwards, she played a role in The Safety of Objects, where she played the daughter of a single mother who was troubled.  In the film, Panic Room, Stewart had a major role in which she played the diabetic and unhappy daughter of a divorced mother played by Jodie Foster.  The film received positive reviews, as did Stewart's performance.

Once Panic Room was successful, Stewart was cast in a thriller called Cold Creek Manor, in which she played the role of the daughter of Sharon Stone's character and Dennis Quaid's character.  The film failed at the box office.  However, her first starring role came next in a children's action comedy called Catch That Kid, along with Corbin Bleu and Max Thieriot.  She additionally played Lila in the thriller called Undertow.  Her most critically acclaimed role, however, is probably in the television film called Speak, which is based on a novel written by Laurie Halse Anderson.  Stewart completed this role when she was thirteen.  In the film, she played a high school freshman who stops speaking after she has been raped.  She deals with emotional turmoil, and because of her portrayal, Stewart received terrific praise. 

In 2005, Stewart appeared in Zathura as Lisa, who is the older sister of thwo little boys.  This was a fantasy adventure film, and while the movie did receive praise from critics, Kristen's role did not get much attention.  In 2006, Krsiten played the role of May in Fierce People.  Next she had the lead role of Jess Solomon in The Messengers, a supernatural thriller movie. 

In 2007, Stewart acted the part of Lucy Hardwicke in In the Land of Women, which is a romantic drama that featured Meg Ryan and Adam Brody.  Kristen's performance and the movie in general received mixed reviews.  Kristen also played the role of Tracy in Sean Penn's film, Into the Wild.  She received positive reviews for her role in this film.  Stewart also had a cameo appearance in the film Jumper and also appeared in What Just Happened. 

In 2007, it was announced that Kristen Stewart would play the role of Isabella Swan in Twilight, based on the vampire romance novels by Stephenie Meyer.  She starred in this film with Edward Cullen, who is her vampire boyfriend.  Kristen also appeared in New Moon, the sequel, and will also appear in Eclipse. 

Stweart lives in Woodland Hills in Los Angeles, California.  One of her goals is to live and work in Australia, where her mother is from.  In fact, she would like to to go Sydney University.  She would like to become a writer.  Kristen also plays the guitar and sings.
